Experimental music seems to be a defining characteristic of the modern underground internet music scene, which is why retro experimentation seems to have fascinated me more than a lot of what I’ve been hearing lately. Mr. Stereo, in his debut project, has taken inspiration from a genre of film that is probably justly under-appreciated and created a wonderfully complex compilation of sexploitation samples mixed with appropriate funk/jazz samples that make this one of the most interesting projects I have heard in quite a while. Just try not to listen to this entire project. Almost makes me want to watch a sexploitation movie. Well, it doesn’t, but almost. Enjoy the full stream below as well as the trailer, which uses clips from what I can only assume are a film guru’s shameful sex dreams.
Beer Recommendation: Try with a Flying Dog Old Scratch Amber.
