Better Buzz// Moon Taxi x Cherub

July 30, 2012 · Gibs

Awhile back we had the opportunity to go check out two of Nashville’s own Moon Taxi and Cherub. Beyond having the time of our lives the music spoke volumes for not only the artists but also the amount of people supporting the flourishing music scene here in Nashville. With Moon Taxi fresh from playing Bonnaroo as well as touring with Matisyahu, and Cherub ripe from dominating such festivals as Bonnaroo, Hangout, and Electric Forest (to name a few) the city more than welcomed their return. Below is our depiction of the ‘blurry’ experience shared by many remembered by less to one of Cherubs latest titled xoxo . Two epic music sets, a lot of beer, and one staggering sunrise amongst the steps of Cherub’s porch later…we have this to show for it..Cheers

Beer Recommendation: (Soon to grace the city of Nashville) Fat Bottom Brewery’s ‘Ruby Red American Ale’

-Special thanks to Nashville’s Independent Radio Lightning 100 and Tin Roof for making such an experience possible.

Better Buzz// The Palmer Squares

June 24, 2012 · Gibs

After becoming quite the fans of the Palmer Squares and what they do, we here at Bugg’s LifeMusic decided to take a little adventure. After contacting the boys we headed up to Chicago to chill (and Rage) with Matt and Seth. Aside from the boys killing their show, complete with live drummer and Dj, they managed to give us a taste of what goes on off the stage, annnd lets just say….We lived. Below is our creative collaboration of the adventure to one of their latest tracks ‘To the Letter’ off their recent “Spooky Language EP.” It humbles me to know that there are still artists out their not only passionate about their art but the relationships built in the process.  Check out the adventure, listen to the lyrics, download the music, repeat rapidly.

Beer Recommendation: Goose Island’s Green Line Pale Ale

Heavy Heads- Bowflex [Official Video]

March 15, 2012 · Gibs

Empty cases, packed bowls, and a full ass kitchen would be the best way to describe the filming of ‘Heavy Heads’ latest music video. After meeting the fellas we got the opportunity to know a genuine good group of guys and not just their music link. Once we dropped  their full mixtape (here) we were ecstatic to get the chance to know the boys behind the bars (and get fucked up). Below is our adventure, as depicted by none other than Theodore Daniels. Play this at your next RAGER if you’re ready to get rowdy.  ”FLEX!”

Beer Recommendation: Carolina Brewery’s Copperline Amber

4 man hip-hop group ‘The Skeptics’ and mixing messiah ‘JQ’ have recently released mixtape ’1990now’ and are creating quite the buzz with lyrical niche for painting pictures and eclectic mix of classic beats from the 90′s as their canvas; the boys create imagery with words and content rivaled by few. If your one of those stubborn hip-hop heads which listens to only authentic content and creative word play, you just found it. Meet the guys below in our Exclusive drop of their music video for ’I Jus Wanna Chill’  as well as stream and download the mixtape. MODERN BANDITS

Modern Bandits – ‘Training Wheels (Original Mix)’ [Exclusive Stream]

February 7, 2012 · Gibs

If you’ve been to one of our shows in Nashville in the past few months, chances are you’ve seen both or part of Modern Bandits (under S3ismology), up-and-coming fist bumpers and dance provokers. ‘Training Wheels’ marks the first mastered track to be release by the duo although it seems like they don’t really need them. The track was mastered by Nick Price  and completely produced by Brent Shively and Tyler Norris, the Modern Bandits. It’s a pretty dope house electro track that has a lot of depth for a five minute dance mix. Look for them at upcoming raves in the Nashville and Lexington areas in the upcoming weeks.

Meet We Are Drugs

January 26, 2012 · Gibs

After releasing a couple of mixtapes through us, Tino Bugg has now decided to shift his focus to collaboration with another Bugg’s LifeMusic collaborator, Evan Moore. We Are Drugs is an effort to create progressive hip-hop combined with trippy synth based beats created by Ev. It’s a pretty bold project that I think will really blow people away. After getting an exclusive listen to their first EP, Organic Chemistry, it’s pretty easy to see where the name comes from. The concept is pretty cool in that it gives music the same attributes as illicit substances; great music has a way or really making you feel something, that something draws you back to it time and time again, and there’s a point to where your friend’s might even say, “Gibs you have a problem, you need to stop listening to the same EP over and over”, but you just can’t.

The feeling that We Are Drugs tries to induce is one very similar to drugs, and after previewing the upcoming music video they are set to release, I actually felt like I was tripping. So I guess that just means the biggest danger of listening to We Are Drugs is the danger that you won’t be able to stop.

Evan’s upstart production company Neon Wilderness, just dropped the promo video for this project, you can check it out below.

Beer Recommendation: Try with a Modelo.

Church Mice- ‘Visit The Cemetary’ Album Release Party

January 18, 2012 · Gibs

Today is one of those days when we tell you about one of those shows we found out last minute about and attending turns into to one of the best decisions you’ve ever made. Tonight 1/18/12 Church Mice, a talented band out of Nashville, will be blessing ear drums with the likes of Vinyl Theif and Christian Luthi at Mercy Lounge  in Nashville for their first ever album release party.(on 12′ might I add) Granted there are plenty of talented musicians in this city, Church Mice are managing to distinguish themselves amongst the plethora of performance and doing so in raw and authentic fashion, something rare these days. Below is an exclusive off the LP courtesy of the Mice themselves and don’t worry you can thank em at the show.
