Bugg’s LifeMusic Presents: Mayhem at Margaritaville

November 14, 2011 · Gibs

Yep, it’s what time again: another LifeMusic rager for all you party addicts out there. This time we’re bringing back some of our favorite DJs and then some to take over Margaritaville Nashville. Yeah that’s right, something on Broadway that isn’t Honky-Tonk; it’s about time right? If you were present for one of our other parties at McFadden’s then you’ll know that we don’t mess around and this time we’re going even bigger than we have been, especially since it will be a Friday, so none of you have to wake up for your classes the next morning. They’ve given us the entire second floor of Margaritaville, two bars, crazy lights, margaritas, great draft beer specials, four fantastic DJs, margaritas, no cover for 21+, only $5 for 18-20, and margaritas. Friday November 18 at 10PM.

This time we’re bringing Airborne, S3ismology and Carnage plus we’ve got Evido there to close out the night! You really won’t want to miss a minute of this so make sure to get there early (I know that’s asking a lot) for Airborn who goes on at 10:00. If you haven’t already seen the Facebook event page make sure to head there as soon as possible and click “Attend”.

As an added bonus, Carnage has just released a clip for a new track he will be spinning on Friday. You can hear the song in its entirety on Friday (11.18.11). Enjoy.

Beer Recommendation: Margaritas all night long…

Halloweekend – Photos from McFadden’s & Limelight

November 3, 2011 · Gibs

Well, we were busy this weekend. Between throwing a party at McFadden’s, raging at Limelight and Helping with Lazenby’s party on Saturday we didn’t have too much time to remember what we were doing. Here’s my best attempt.

We decided to give McFadden’s another go because of the great reaction that we received from the last show we had there. This time we brought back S3ismology for what turned out to be another energy driven set of dance tracks with some creatively weird input from Relativity. Airborn opened the show and started to get people moving for Bohemian Hype Cult who were kind enough to grace us with a show outside a house. Even though one of their members was unable to perform due to partying to hard for the establishment, they put on a hell of a set and we truly look forward to hearing more. At the climax of the night was Carnage, who we have previously covered on the site. Even though he was the youngest of the bunch he got every single person in the building and on nearby streets onto McFadden’s Dance floors with one hand pumping to his filthy bass sounds. Needless to say, we outdid ourselves in musical splendor that night. Here are the pictures we took. Enjoy. (Pictures taken by Robert Hudson, Allison Herrenbruck and Tia Adams)

The very next night, despite still trying to piece together the night before, Tino and I took it upon ourselves to make sure that Limelight experienced the same ridiculous Halloween joy that we had the night before. It was a similar line up to the last one that we covered, except this time Sir Lazenby went on first; no doubt to prepare for the coming events of the weekend. Site friends Paddywhack and DJ Rudy played for the rest of the night. I would go into detail about their sets, but to be honest I was pretty in my own world during those. Here are the pictures from that show. There are too many that I don’t remember… (Thanks to Sara-Taylor Sharpe for taking picture for us once again)

Beer Recommendation: Well there are two. For Thursday, $2 PBR no doubt. For Friday, $1 Natural Light (the real kicker was the Jack Daniels before hand).

Sir Lazenby/ GoodMusicAllDay/ Bugg’s LifeMusic Present: Halloween Rager

November 1, 2011 · Gibs

Another Halloweekend gone and another rager complete. If you were present in Nashville this past weekend and did not attend Lazenby’s annual rager we helped throw with GoodMusicAllDay, you could probably still hear the screams, not from fright of any ghostly presence but from the desperate students trying to grab every dollar that was thrown up in the air during Future’s “Rainin’ Money”. Thrown in the East Nashville mansion that is most well known for it’s prior leasers, Paramore, this year’s rager was packed to capacity. The kind of crowd that these artists are now pulling made this to be one of the biggest house shows I’ve ever been a part of. Although to be fair this was more of a get-fucked festival than a house party.

Not going to lie, we were pretty out of it for the performances, but we do have hazy recollections of excellence on all fronts. When you get a chance check out everyone who played. Seriously not a subpar act the entire night.

It would be difficult to summarize the night in written form since there was such a huge amount of tom-foolery happening everywhere, so here are the pictures we took while we were there. Enjoy. Head over to the Live page to see the full set of thumbnails from the night.

Bugg’s LifeMusic Presents: P†MP$ & HØRRØR$ H∆LLØW∑∑N ß∆NG∑R

October 24, 2011 · Gibs

Well it’s finally that time of year. The time when we all have an excuse to dress as sexy/funny/boring as we want and to shove our mouths with all the candy corn and booze that our hearts desire. In light of the great reaction to our Fake Patty’s Day celebration at McFadden’s in Nashville we have decided to give it another go, this time as first blood (possible zombie pun) in the weekend’s Halloween celebration on Thursday October 27th. We’ve set up another solid, if not even better, line-up for Thursday including site favorites BØHEMI▲N HYPE C▼LT! We also have DJ sets from Airborn, DJ Carnage and then S3ismology who killed it at the last show. Head here to RSVP on Facebook. It’s going to be a fucking blast. Don’t forget to wear your most creative costumes, we will have photographers.

Sidenote: This will be a glowstick affair…

We’re also going to be going to Limelight the next night to see some other site favorites Paddywhack and DJ Rudy, so head here to check that out as well. The very next night we will be helping to put on Sir Lazenby’s annual halloween rager that always proves to be Nashville’s biggest college party of the year. Head here to check that out.

Beer Recommendation: Any beer in this case is good beer but it’s also Samuel Adams Octoberfest season so there’s nothing wrong with that either.

DJ Rudy, Paddywhack & S3ismology at McFadden’s

September 27, 2011 · Gibs

We at Bugg’s LifeMusic put on our first site-sponsored show this past week at McFadden’s in downtown Nashville, and let me tell you, there wasn’t much honky-tonking off Broadway last Thursday. If you were there then you will know that it was a huge success. The Irish pub helped us celebrate Fake Patty’s day in style as we brought some of Nasvhille’s brightest DJ talent.

S3ismology, a.k.a. Brent Shively, started the night off with some of his own South African influences that really helped to get the party started for Paddywhack as they brought the heat once again to the unsuspecting Mcfadden’s regulars and hundreds of others. Both acts brought a little more progressive dance music that got everyone sweating until about 12:30 when DJ Rudy, who was at that fantastic Limelight show we are still trying to piece together, went on. Rudy somehow ended up having the longest set of all, mainly because no one wanted it to stop, extending past closing time.

If you weren’t at the show first of all you fucked up. Secondly, don’t worry, we’re already working on more fantastic events for you to check out. Here are some of the pictures from the night. Also check out the Live page for full sizes of all images.

Beer Recommendation: This is the first liquor incorporated drink in this section, but S3ismology and I can both attest to the Irish Carbomb being the perfect accompaniment to Fake Patty’s Day celebrations.

Bugg’s LifeMusic Presents: Fake Patty’s Day w/ DJ Rudy, Paddywhack & S3ismology @McFadden’s, Nashville

September 21, 2011 · Gibs

Come tomorrow, 9/22/11, we will be putting on our first site sponsored event downtown in Nashville, Tennessee, at McFadden’s. Drink specials plus local DJs, including recent Limelight standouts Paddywhack and DJ Rudy as well as the new face S3ismology equals one hell of a night.

Put on your green because this time we’re bringing Fake Patty’s Day to Nashville. Just because it’s six months away doesn’t mean we can’t get specials on Irish beers and Irish car bombs, right? That’s our thought.

DJ sets start around 11 and it’s 18 to party, 21 to rage.

Here’s the Facebook event page for it.

Beer Recommendation: I would say Guinness, but I’m sure I’ll just end up drinking $1 PBR (tell the bartenders Bugg’s LifeMusic sent you and you can too).

Paddywhack at Limelight, Nasvhille – 8/26

August 29, 2011 · Gibs

$1 drafts plus some incredible dance music makes for one hell of a night.

This past Friday part of the Bugg’s LifeMusic crew took a trip out to Limelight to support our friends in Paddywhack as they played a back-to-school DJ set for Belmont, Vanderbilt and Lipscomb students. When we first got there, we didn’t find a huge crowd since it was still early, but with the energy that Paddywhack was bringing it didn’t take long to turn the whole venue to a nightclub. While, to be honest, I’m not an expert on dance music by any standard, it was pretty clear to me that these guys knew exactly what they were doing. Great song balance, great build up, and again – incredible energy. I mean fuck…

We couldn’t help but throw our hands up for just about every song in the set. Paddywhack, which is comprised of Dylan Ammarman and Kyle Pilcher made quick work out of the hesitant crowd and quickly got the party started for the other DJs performing that night. Our only hope is that in future shows they’ll get a later spin time so that we can enjoy the fullness of their fantastic set.

Our good friend Robert Hudson was kind enough to take pictures for us during the show. Head over to the Live page to see some of the shots that he took. While you’re perusing don’t forget to check out Robert’s Flickr page.

Beer Recommendation: $1 Natty Light, SMART.
