Our good friends, The Mind Ninjas, just don’t stop putting out music that impresses us. Their latest full-length release, Burning Leaf Technique showcases their talents at bringing back the classic soul and lyricism that we’ve come to miss in classic hip-hop, but also show some real progression that makes it relevant still. After hearing ‘Woody Harrelson’ and Good Shepard’s recent beat tape, we’ve been on the edge of our seats for this one. I had meant to post this on Shep’s birthday, but I’m a terrible person so fuck you. Stream and download the entire collection, Burning Leaf Technique below. Enjoy.
Beer Recommendation: Try with a Highland Razor Wit, I mean it is summer y’all.

Remember the envy that you all had when you would see a friend with a holographic Charizard Pokemon card? Well I am making the bold prediction that it’ll be a similar envy of every MC who isn’t on a Good Shepard beat in the upcoming years. Bringing back the soul that we’ve almost forgotten after losing J Dilla and seeing the rise of trap and glitch electro in hip-hop beats that adequately suited the passion and lyricism of so many quality guys out there. Having said that, the tracks on this tape are amazing as stand alone tracks and the mere fact that Shep (The Good Shepard) put this tape together a little more than a week after I suggested it says great things about his ability (and back log). If you haven’t tried out your own stuff over one of his sounds check out “
In anticipation for
